From exile to world mission.
After 1620 the Unity of Brethren was crushed. A century later, Count Zinzendorf offered his estate in Saxony to a remnant of Bohemian exiles. The community they built — Herrnhut — became the centre of a worldwide revival: by 1792 the Moravians had sent more overseas missionaries than all of Protestantism combined.
This is the longest of our Reformation tours and the most contemplative. You travel by coach through the Lusatia hills, walk the famous God's Acre cemetery where 10,000 brothers and sisters lie in identical graves, and sit inside the 18th-century Saal where the 1727 awakening began.
