Two faiths, one city.
In 1618 Protestant nobles threw three Catholic governors from a window of Prague Castle — the Defenestration that started the Thirty Years' War. Two years later at White Mountain, the Protestant cause was crushed, and 27 lords were executed on Old Town Square in a single morning.
This walk traces both layers: the pre-1620 Protestant city — the Hussites' Týn Church, the Utraquist tradition, the printing houses — and the Catholic Baroque poured over it after 1620: the Bridge Statues, the Jesuit Klementinum, the Loreto shrine. Together they explain how Prague looks today.
